This variety was developed in 2004. Granite Red is a cross between varieties #35 and GH1. It is an excellent variety to be used as fresh fruit because it is very firm, shiny, and has uniform color. The color is midseason and the size is larger than average. They have excellent keeping quality. Yields are similar to Stevens.
